~I wish to have an explanation and an example of how to work it out. I don't understand how to figure it out, but my teacher wants it written in a certain way. I need to figure out how to cross multiply it and get the answer. Thankyou.

6 OUT OF 10=6/10=.6 OR 60% of all the players are girls.
thus 40% are boys.
or 467=.4x
x=467/.4
x=1167.5 is the total number of basketball players.
.6*1167.5=700.5 girls.
proof
700.5/1167.5=.6 or 60% for the girls.
467/1167.5=.4 or 40% for the boys.
Are you sure you have the correct figures?? Half a player doesn't make sense.
