I am a 3 digit number. The digit in the hundreds place is 4 times the digit in the tens place. The digit in the ones place is the sum of the digits in the hundreds and tens places. If the digit in the hundreds place is 4, what am I?

The digits can only be 0, 1, 2, ..., 8, or 9.

The digit in the hundreds place is 4 times the digit in the tens place:
The only possibilities are 41? or 82?

The digit in the ones place is the sum of the digits in the hundreds and tens places:
4+1=5; but 8+2=10 is not a valid digit. So the number must be 415.

If the digit in the hundreds place is 4, what am I?
We don't need this clue; we have already found what the number has to be.

Notice that I worked the problem by using the three clues in the order they were given. It is probably easier to find the answer by using the 3rd clue before the 2nd:

The first clue tells us the number is either 41? or 82?
The third clue tells us the hundreds digit is 4, so we know the number is 41?
Then the second clue tells us the ones digit is 4+1=5, making the number 415.
