A farmer has 40 metres of fencing with which to enclose his sheep. He wants to make a rectangular paddock. The farmer has permission to use a river as one side of his enclosure, and still, has 40 meters of fencing available for the other 3 sides.
Use x to represent the width of the enclosure and write an expression for the length showing your working.
