A CD costs $3.50 more than a tape. Write an expression for the total cost of 1 CD and 1 tape.
solution:
Let the cost of a tape = x
Cost of the CD = x + $3.50
Total cost of 1CD and 1tape = (x+ $3.50)+x
= 2x +$3.50
Expression for total cost = 2x+ $3.50
