Please check the question again to see if it is x^2-6X+....
If it is, the answer is 9, because by completing the square, x^2-6x+9 is (x-3)^2.
In instances with completing the square (factoring is one use, parabola construction another), one takes half of the x term in the middle and squares it. Half of -6 is -3, and squared, it is 9.
