Question 79222: This is a homework assignment and I have been trying to solve it with no luck. The problem is as follows:
(x^7y^-4z^0/5^-2x^3y^-8z^-9)^2 All exponents in final answers should be positive. Final answers should have all single connecting signs and be arranged in descending order. This is what I have so far, but do not know if it is right. Homework is due Tuesday, April 24,2007.
(x^7y^-4z^0/5^-2x^3y^-8z^-9)^2
= (x^7x^3/y^45^2y^8z^9)2
=(x^7)^2x^3(2)/(y^4)^2(5^2)^2(y^8)^2(z^9)^2
= x^14x^6/y^85^4y^16z^18
=x^14y^16z^185^4/x^6y^8
=5^4 x^14-6Y^16-8z^18
= 625z^18x^8y^8
Is this correct? If not, what am I doing wrong? Your reply and help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Question 81658: Hello,
I go to the Moring Star Online Homeschooling Academy. And need sever help with Exponents.. I am having questions that look like this:
j-7^2k^9^3kl
_____________
-j^4k^2l
I do not understand how to do these.. This is one of many problems they are telling me to use:
To complete these problems, use the rules you have learned as necessary in this order:
Power of Quotients Rule (AKA: Power of Fractions Rule)
Zero Exponent Rule
Power Rule
Expand or evaluate any exponents
Product Rule
Quotient Rule
I have no idea how to even start a problem like this!
I was wondering if you could give me a few pages to print out of how to do each step step-by-step explanatory help.. Can you send me a link or something. ASAP.. Thanks. I appreciate your help... VICTORIA
P.S. If you could send me some rules and exaples of negative numbers with that Id really appreciate it :)

Question 84016: Tutor could you help me with this problem
(6X-7)^2
I know the answer would be:
=36x^-14
=36/x^14
but my instructor wrote: You have to either use a formula or rewrite your problem (6x-7)(6x-7)
Would it then be: 36-7=29 * 29 = 58????
I don't understand this...Please Help!!!!! Thank you

Question 84532: ((2x)^2)((4x)^4)((8x)^6)=
a.) (2^22)(x^12)
b.) (2^24)(x^12)
c.) (2^26)(x^12)
d.) (2^28)(x^12)
I know the answer is d. but how would you arrive at that answer without multiple choice answer. Say this was on a test and it wasn't multiple choice, how would you arrive at the correct answer in that format. I understand how to get the x^12 but I do not know how to arrive at 2^28. How do get from 268435456 to 2^28?
