Question 135337: Can someone point me to the right direction with this problem?
Use a combination of rules and exponents to simplify each expression.
y to the negative 8 power times y to the 5 power times y to the negative 2 power.
So far I come up with y to the neg. 8 power over 1 = 1 over y to the 8 power. Does it just become positive y to the 8 so you can begin to times it by the y to the 5 power and so forth? I would like to know if I am doing the problem right.
Anyones response greatly appreciated.
