SOLUTION: What is the answer of -5 to the 4th power? What is the formula? My answer is -625

If it's
 
(-5)4 , with the negative sign inside parentheses, 

then it means (-5)(-5)(-5)(-5) = +625

But if it's

-54 ,  with the negative sign NOT inside parentheses,

 then it means -1×(5)(5)(5)(5) = -625

Always be sure which it is, so you won't get the sign wrong.
