Question 71374: I need extra help with finding Ax+By=C and how to find equations of a slope.
Answer by checkley75(3666) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
AX+BY=C SUBTRACT AX FROM BOTH SIDES
BY=-AX+C NOW DIVIE ALL TERMS BY B
Y=-AX/B+C/B
-------------------------------------
TO FIND THE SLOPE OF A LINE THROUGH TWO POINTS (X1,Y1)(X2,Y2) IS
(Y2-Y1)/(X2-X1)
EXAMPLE (3,5)(-1,-7)
(-7-5)/(-1-3)
-12/-4=3 WHICH IS THE SLOPE OF AS LINE THROUGH THESE TWO POINTS.
