Question 70562: I am having a difficult time simplifying this problem:
(15625a^2/15b^-1/3)^5/6
The instructions say to Simplify. Present all answers with positive exponents. Assume that all variables represent positive numbers.
We have recently learned about radicals, but I am not sure if that has anything to do with this or not.
I started out doing the following:
(6th root of 15625a^2/15b^-1/3)^5
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(15625a^2/15b^-1/3)^5/6
Replace 15625 with 5to the 6 power
Rewrite as:
[(5^6)a^(2/15)(b^(-1/3)]^(5/6)
Apply the power of (5/6) to each of the factors to get:
=[ (5^5)(a^(1/9))(b^(-5/18)]
=[25 a^(1/9)]/[b^(5/18)]
