Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4√3:(b)+5=√3:(b)-1
-----
[4*sqrt(3)/(b+5)] = [sqrt(3)/(b-1)]
-----
Cross-multiply:
4sqrt(3)(b-1) = sqrt(3)(b+5)
------
[4sqrt(3)-sqrt(3)]b = 5sqrt(3)+4sqrt(3)
----
b = 9sqrt(3)/(3sqrt(3))
----
b = 3

Answer by checkley79(3341) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4√3:(b)+5=√3:(b)-1
4SQRT3/(B+5)=SQRT3/(B-1) DIVIDE BY SQRT3
4/(B+5)=1/(B-1) CROSS MULTIPLY
B+5=4(B-1)
B+5=4B-4
B-4B=-4-5
-3B=-9
B=-9/-3
B=3 ANS.
