This is a negative exponent problem. When have negative exponents they can not be on the top. So you have to move the negative exponents to the bottom of the fraction. And the coffients stay where they are THEY DO NOT MOVE. So the first part of the fraction looks like this... 2/x^2 times -4/x^6. They you can add the exponents together because when you multiply two numbers with exponents you have to add the exponents. So your final answer would be -8/ x^8.
