First we translate it into exponential equation:
8 to the 2nd power times 8 to the sevnth power = 8^2 * 8^9 = X
where
the two 8s are the bases
^2 and ^7 are the exponents
When multiplying identical bases, simply add their exponents
8^2 * 8^7 = 8^(2+7)= 8^9 = 134,217,728
