Question 59887: This is from my teacher and we have to solve it and I am not sure if you can reduce first and then do the exponents. Here is the problem and it didn't come from a specific math book.
(-5a)^4/(-15a^2b)^3
I took out -5a, then I ended up with 1^4/(3ab)^3 is this correct. You can show this online. Thanks

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-5a)^4/(-15a^2b)^3
[5^4 a^4]/[- 3^3 5^3 a^6 b^3]
[5]/[-27 a^2 b^3]
=(-5)/(27a^2b^3)
Cheers,
Stan H.
