Question 586095: Okay I am graphing this and I'm really confused. All it says is Y= 3X-4 and then under that it has Y= -3X + 2. How would you graph this and how would you solve this. Directions are Solve each system by graphing Thank YOU!!!

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Slope-intercept form is y = mx + b
m is the slope {which is how much the line rises over how much it runs}
b is the y-intercept {which is where the line crosses the y-axis}

y = 3x - 4
To graph:
- put a point on -4 on the y-axis
- from there move up 3 and to the right 1 and put another point {rise over run is 3/1}
- draw a line through the two points}

y = -3x + 2
To graph:
- put a point on 2 on the y-axis
- from there, move down 3 and to the right 1 and put another point (rise over run is -3/1}
- draw a line through the two points

The point where the two lines meet is the solution.
