Question 582199: im so confused!! im in grade 10 foundations math and were working on rational exponents. is the question is to evaluate 16 & 3/4 i change it too the square root of 16 to the power of 3 and then the four goes on the left hand side outside of the square root symbol. i get 64 but then i dont know what to do with the four. do i divide 64 by four? it wasnt expained...

find the 4th root of 16, that is 2, right
then
2^3 which is 8

You can do it the other way too, but will need a calc
find 16^3 = 4096
then
find the 4th root of 4096, on a calc = 8 also
