Question 550768: 1)what is the GCF of ,
2)simplify 8(a+2)
3)divide (x^4 + 2x^3 - x^2) by x^2

For the GCF problem, b^3 goes into both b^3 and b^4. Our GCF of 16 and 24 is 8
so our answer is 8b^3
2) 8a+16 just multiply the 8 by each term
3) x^2+2x-1
You can write the problem as
xxxx+2*xxx-xx/xx
And cancel out two x's in each term
