Question 53376: When solving the following for x, I get 5. However, the review sheet I'm working with says I should get 25/8. I can't find how they got that answer and I think my problem lies in manipulating the exponents.
50=[((x)^0.5)+((9x)^0.5)]^2
Thanks

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
50=[((x)^0.5)+((9x)^0.5)]^2
Take the square root of both sides and simplify to get:
5sqrt2= [4sqrtx]
Square both sides to get:
25*2=16x
x=25/8
