group together the terms with common factors so that the factoring results in similar coefficients

20 and 45 are divisible by 5 , 28 and 63 are divisible by 7 ___ the resulting coefficients match

grouping ___ (20x^3 + 45x) - (28x^2 + 63)

factoring ___ 5x(4x^2 + 9) - 7(4x^2 + 9)

consolidating ___ (5x - 7)(4x^2 + 9)
