Are these logarithms on base10 or what? What does log1 mean? Is the other side of the equation supposed to imply a product of 4 and x-3 to result in
log(4x-12)?

log1(x+1)=log4(x-3)
=> 1(x+1) = 4(x-3)
=> x+1 = 4x-12
=> 3x = 13
=> x = 13/3
