Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3^2 + (6 + 3) x 3 = 36
The parentheses is placed around (6 + 3).
The Proof:
3^2 + (6 + 3) x 3 = 36
9 + 9 x 3 = 36
9 + 27 = 36
36 = 36...It checks!

How about this (assuming the x means multiply)
3² + (6 + 3)x3 = 36
9 + (9*3) = 36
9 + 27 = 36
