Question 316313: write the expression in condensed form
log x4 z/ y2

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log (x^4 * x)/(y^2).
You must use the division rule for logs which is
log(TOP/BOTTOM) = log(TOP) - log(BOTTOM).
Let TOP = x^4 * z
Let BOTTOM = y^2
We now plug and chug.
log(x^4 * z)/(y^2) = logx^4*z - logy^2.
We now bring down each exponent and place them in front of the word log for each term.
The final answer is 4(logz) - 2(logy).
