With further clarification, it seems that the original problem was to find the derivative of a function k%28x%29+=sin%28%281%2F4%29%2Ae%5E%28-8x%29%29. It turns out that the derivative of k(x) is
k'(x) =%281%2F4%29%2Acos%28%281%2F4%29%2Ae%5E%28-8x%29%29%2A%28-8e%5E%28-8x%29%29.

The question was actually, how do you simplify this answer!

k'(x) = -2+e%5E%28-8x%29%2Acos%28%281%2F4%29e%5E%28-8k%29%29

By the way, Calculus is usually not as hard as the algebra it takes to simplify it!! If you want to be GOOD at Calculus, make sure you have a GOOD algebra background before you get there!!
