Question 210955: I need help with these two problems.
1. 7x^3-14x^2+21x over 7x (meaning its a line under the first half of the problem and the 7x is under that)
2. 4x^3-15x^2-190x+9 over x-9 ( same thing here the problem is underline and the x-9 is under that)
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. 7x^3-14x^2+21x over 7x (meaning its a line under the first half of the problem and the 7x is under that)
---
Factor the numerator and the problem becomes:
(7x(x^2-2x+3))/(7x)
Cancel the 7x that is common to numerator and denominator.
= x^2-2x+3
=================================================
2. 4x^3-15x^2-190x+9 over x-9 ( same thing here the problem is underline and the x-9 is under that)
---
Factor the numerator and the problem becomes:
[(x-9)(4x^2+21x-1)]/(x-9)
Cancel the (x-9) that is common to numerator.
= 4x^2+21x-1
