I have been working on this problem ALL DAY LONG! Here it is:
((x+2)*(1/2)(x+1)^(-1/2)-(x+1)^(1/2))/(x+2)^(2).
I have gotten several different answers. I am unsure of what I am doing wrong. At first I tried bringing down the negative exponent and then canceling out, I got (-1/2)/(x+2)but I don't think that it is correct. All the other sulutions are a bunch of mumble jumbles. I thought maybe I should convert into rational terms but I ended with an imaginary number (SQRT of 1/2) in the domnimator but I don't think that is correct at all.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
