if P=7y+2xy-6x and Q=5-7y find the value of 3p-4q
Well all we have to do here is plug in the values for p and q which we are given and then simplify.
3p-4q --> Plugging in the given values
= 3(7y+2xy-6x)-4(5-7y)--> Distributing
= 21y+6xy-18x-20+28y --> Combining Like Terms
= 49y+6xy-18x-20 --> Factoring
= 49y+6x(y-3)-20
