I found the answer by 0.6 divided by 0.88 and counted the number of reps till I got the answer 1 (or close to), but there must be a better way.

0.6=0.88^x

Since the variable is in the exponent you have to take the log of both sides to get:
x[log0.88] = log0.6
x = [log0.6]/[log0.88]
Now you may use a calculator to get:
x = 3.996027154....
