How would you solve the log base of 125^1/5...when I did it I got an answer of x=1/3 but my teaching book has the answer as x=-1/3...
============
log base of 125^1/5 makes no sense, you don't show an x anywhere.
----
If you mean log(1/5) base 125:
Put it in exponential form:
125^x = 1/5 - solve for x
--> 125^(1/3) = 5 right?
125^(-1/3) = 1/5
