Question 47583: My problem is 2x^2+4/2x
I know it should be simple but I can not for the life of me get this one. I have to write it in the form of
quotient+remainder/divisor

Question 48334: I have this problem, and I have to simplify it and express in terms of positive exponents. (3x^-4y / z^2) All to the power of -3.
The answer I've come up with is x^12 / 27y^3z^6. I'm really not sure about this problem. Thanks.

Question 48554: I am taking a Pre-Calculus Algebra class online and I am at a complete loss. Please help!!
Perform the indicated operations. Write the result using only positive exponents and assume all variables represent nonzero real numbers.
9r^-3(r^4)^4/2(r^-2)^5
Rationalize the denominator. Assume all variables represent positve real numbers.
5√11x/√x^3
Your help would be greatly appreciated - like I said I am at a complete loss.
Thanks in advance!!

Question 48957: Hi! My calc teacher gave his students a packet of math review to do over the summer. I am stuck on this problem because it involves a trigonometric function. Please help me simplify this equation:
-[(x^-1/2)/(2)]sin(sqrt(X))
this is what i have so far:
step 1
-[(1/sqrt(X))/(2)]sin(sqrt(x))
step 2
-[{sqrt(x)/(x)}/{2)]sin(sqrt(x))
step 3
-[{sqrt(X)}/{2x}]sin(sqrt(x))<--I'm stuck here
Thank you for taking the time to look at this problem and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Question 50106: I think I got these two but would like to double check before turning in. Thanks!! Andrea
BTW, I apologize in advance for any misunderstanding in my notation as it is hard to do square roots and exponents in the same problem; it is much easier to read with the Math Type program.
(A)
2 sqrt x + 3(x + 1)^2-sqrt(4x) + x^2
2 sqrt x + 3(x^2 + 2x + 1) - sqrt(4x) + x^2
2 sqrt x + 3x^2 + 6x + 3) - sqrt(4x) + x^2
2 sqrt x - 2 sqrt x + 3x^2 + x^2 + 6x + 3
4x^2 + 6x + 3
(B)
sqrt(64x^5) / sqrt(121x^7)
8x^2(sqrt x) / 11x^2(sqrt x^3)

Question 52353: I am having trouble figuring this out. the problem is simple really there is just one little turn I can't figure out. a=40 and b=5 so here goes it is written in fraction form ans the first is -a/b, and 2nd is a/-b simple right now how do you figure the problem when the negative sign is right next to the fraction bar instead of next to the variable itself.

Question 53752: Ive been stuck on this problem for almost 2 weeks now. I just cannot seem to find an example related enough to convince me that I am doing this correctly. Can you please help me? The problem is:
(x^2y^-3z)^1/2 / x^1/2yz^-1/2
The answer Ive come to is
x1/y^3/2z^1/2 / x^1/2y1/z^2
am I even close??
