Question 756653: My problem is Integers and figuring when they are positive or negative in the parenthesis. –3 – 5 – (–4)

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20060)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When you see "minus a negative number" you write it as
"plus a positive number". So when you see -(-4) you
rewrite it as +(+4) or just + 4

-3 - 5 - (-4)

then you rewrite that as:

-3 - 5 + 4

Combine -3 and -5 as -8. Then you rewrite that as

-8 + 4

Then you combine those and get

 -4
