Hi, there--

The problem:
Multiply the two factors.


A solution:
You cannot really solve this expression but you can simplify by multiplying the factors. 

Use the distributive property for multiplication over addition. Notice that you are multiplying together two factors, (=You will end up clearing the multiplication and adding together four terms.

Multiply the first term in the first factor by each term in the second factor.



Multiply the second term in the first factor by each term in the second factor.



Add together each product.


Combine like terms.
