Im guessing you mean this:

There is no 'equal to' sign anywhere,so nothing is being equated,so this is not an equation.
This is an algebraic expression,and it cannot be further simplified.


Please check your book for any equal to signs,given values of x,or instructions about the question,and post again if you have any trouble.
