Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Erin's age is 3 times Warren's. In 4 years she will be twice as old as he will be. How old is each now?
-----------------
NOW DATA:
Let Warren be "x" yrs. old
Erin is "3x" yrs. old
------------------------------
4 yrs from now DATA:
Warren's age will be x+4
Erin's age will be 3x+4
------------------------------
EQUATION:
Erins age is twice Warren's
3x+4 = 2(x+4)
3x+4 = 2x+8
x = 4 (Warren's age NOW)
3x = 12 (Erin's age NOW)
