Distribute the 3:
Combine like terms:
Subtract 69 from both sides
Divide both sides by -11
You know that x=23-3y, so plug in 6 for y:
Simplify
Combine like terms

x=5
y=6

3x-2y=3
3(23-3y)-2y=3
69-9y-2y=3
-11y=3-69
-11y=-66
y=-66/-11
y=6 answer.
x=23-3*6
x=23-18
x=5 answer.

15-12=3
3=3
