Remember the "slope-intercept" form of a line? It looks like this:
y = mx + b
where
m is the slope
b is the y-intercept at (0, b)
.
The problem gives you to pieces of information:
slope (m) is 1/3
and
y-intercept (b) is 4
.
All you need to do is plug it into the "slope-intercept" form of a line:
y = mx + b
y = (1/3)x + 4
y = x/3 + 4 (that's it, you're done)
