: can you please help me solve and check this problem: (((An investment of $1500 paid interest of $45 during a certain period. how much interest would an investment of $2000 invested at the same rate for the same length of time pay?))) This question is from textbook Algebra structure and method book 1

Answer by mangopeeler07(462)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First you must find the rate.

What percent of 1500 is 45?

45/1500=x/100
4500=1500x
3=x

45 is 3% of 1500. Now that you know the rate you must apply it to the second monetary value.

What is 3% of 2000?

x/2000=3/100
100x=6000
x=60

Answer: $60.00
