Question 1000504: Solving linear equations by addition
2x+2=-3y+9
3x-10=-4y
Why the heck is the 9 there on the first equation, I've tried subtracting it by the 2 in the first equation but in the end my answer is incorrect. If that 9 was gone I would be able to breeze through this problem.

Add 3y - 2 to both sides of equation 1. Then multiply equation 1 by 3.

Add 4y + 10 to both sides of equation 2. Then multiply equation 2 by -2.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
