Question 87225This question is from textbook Algebra & Trigonometry
: 1. I need to solve the following equation: log5x=log4+log(x-3). I think the right way to solve it is to get everything to one side, try for a common base and then solve for x?
2. Solve the problem. Since 1950, the growth in the world population in millions closely fits the exponential function A(t)=26000e^0.018t, where t is the number of years since 1950. Estimate the population in the year 2018 to the nearest million. I am stuck on this one, I am having trouble setting up the problem. I think I need to plug 2018 in for time, get a value and then plug it back into the problem.
I appreciate your help!
Sincerely,
Rachel H.
