Question 998000: Hello.
I was doing some practice problems when I was asked to solve for k in Log(10)^3k.
1. Log(10)^3k // Expand-- Move powers become coefficients.
2. 3kLog10 // Log base 10 of 10 equals 1
2. 3k // Just 3k?
Is this solvable?

Your simplification is correct, IF you are using the convention that an unspecified base implies base 10. That is not universally true, by the way. Some authors write to mean , for example.
