Question 984901: What is the smallest value, to 2 decimal places, in the image set of the function
f(x) = ax^2 + bx + c
when a = 2, b = 4 and c = 121?

i got the answer 119 as the minimum. is it correct?

Answer by t0hierry(194)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
smallest means derivative is zero, so 2ax + b = 0. x = -b/2a = -1
f(-1) = 119
I don't see where the decimals come in.
