2^12 + 2^12 = 2 * 2^12 = 8192
2^13 = 2 * (2^12) = 8192
both expressions are the same, neither one is larger

2^13 = 8192
2^12 + 2^12 = 4^12
4 = 2^2
4^12 = 2^13
