Question 944595: How would I find the asymptote of y = -5^x or y = -24(1/2)^X. Please explain in detail how I would and show the steps you took to find it!
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the asymptote of
y = -5^x
------
5^x approaches zero, but never reaches zero, as x approaches zero
The negative does not change the limit.
Asymptote:: y = 0
Graph::

======================

y = -24(1/2)^X
(1/2)^x approaches 0 as x approaches infinity.
The -24 does not change the limit.
Asymptote:: y = 0
Graph::
