the book said for me to take the first two sets of equations and interchange them, what exactly does that mean?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! find the inverse of these relations:
(-3,6),(2,1),(0,-7),(-8,-1)

All you need to do is interchange the x and the y in each number-pair.

You get: (6,-3), (1,2), (-7,0), (-1,-8)
