Question 767669: An archaeological artifact is thought to have an age of 3600 years. What C-14 radiation level should it have?
A= -8033 ln[C/15.3], where A is age in years and C is carbon-14 radiation level.
Clear ln with (10^ or e^)???
C value (2 decimals)????
can you help me understand this problem
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A = -8033 ln [C/15.3]
Age = 3600 years
Replace A in equation with 3600
3600 = -8033 ln [c/15.3]
Divide both sides by -8033
3600/-8033 = -8033 ln [C/15.3)/-8033
3600/-8033 = ln [C/15.3]
e^3600/-8033 = [C/15.3)
(e^3600/-8033)* 15.3 = C
C = 9.77.
This is what the reading should be.
Hope this helps.
