Question 696956: What is the value 3+log(base)2 (x) = log(base 2) (x-1)
Answer by lwsshak3(11628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What is the value 3+log(base)2 (x) = log(base 2) (x-1)
log2 (x-1) - log2 (x)=3
log2[(x-1)/(x)]=3
convert to exponential form:
2^3=(x-1)/(x)
8=(x-1)/(x)
8x=x-1
7x=-1
x=-1/7
no solution: (x>0)
