Question 632960: I'm trying to figure out how to calculate ln x - ln (x-4) = ln 5. Will you please help me with this?

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
ln x - ln (x-4) = ln 5
ln x/(x-4) = ln 5
x/(x-4) = 5
x = 5(x-4)
x = 5x-20
0 = 4x-20
20 = 4x
5 = x
