Question 62376: I have tried to set this one up but have been unsuccessful in getting the solution. Can anyone help me out?
Find each value of x.
log1/2 16 =x
the 1/2 next to the log in like an exponent but below it. I hope it is clear enough. Thanks in advance!
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log1/2 16 =x
--------
Since 1/2 is the base the corresponding exponential equation is:
(1/2)^x=16
1/2^x=16
Invert both sides to get:
2^x=1/16
Rewrite using base 2 to get:
2^x=2^-4
x=-4
