could you please help me find x in the equation log(x+6)=log(x+1)+0.699

log(x+6)=log(x+1)+0.699
log(x+6)-log(x+1)=0.699
log[(x+6)/(x+1)]=0.699
(x+6)/(x+1) = 10^0.699=5.00034535
I'm going to round this off to 5 because I
know 0.699 is the log of 5 rounded off.
Then:
x+6=5(x+1)
x+6=5x+5
4x=1
x=1/4
