: Find the solution of the exponential equation,correct to 4 decimal places:
e^3-5x = 16
I got:
ln(e^3-5x) = ln16
3-5x = ln16
5x = 3-ln16
x= 1/5(3-ln16) = 0.3592
Does this seem correct?
Thank you so much!

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
e^3-5x = 16
Is the exponent of "e" 3 or is it (3-5x).
If it is (3-5x) your work looks good.
If it is "3" you should proceed accordingly.
Cheers,
Stan H.
