Question 424435: loga x + loga(x-2)=loga3
Answer by Gogonati(855)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve:logax+loga(x-2)=loga3
loga x(x-2)=loga 3
x(x-2)=3
is a quadratic equation, which can be written:

x+1=0 => x=-1 and x-3=0 => x=3 The roots are {-1, 3}
Since the logarithm of negative numbers doesn't exist the value x=-1 is rejected.
Answer.The solution set is {x: x=3}
